As autumn temperatures begin to drop, UK households are searching for affordable ways to stay warm without turning on central heating systems.
Homeware retailer Dunelm has responded by reintroducing its popular 650W five-fin oil-filled radiator, priced at just £25.
The compact unit has become a best-seller thanks to its affordability and energy efficiency, costing an estimated 14p per hour to run under current energy rates.
Customers have flooded online reviews with praise, highlighting how quickly the radiator can heat small rooms such as bedrooms, home offices, and playrooms.
One five-star reviewer wrote that the heater was “indispensable” for combating freezing mornings, while another lauded its lightweight design and easy portability.
Some creative users have even used it to speed up laundry drying times by placing it under indoor airers.
However, not all feedback has been positive — a handful of buyers complained that the heater works best only in close proximity or in well-insulated spaces, with limited effect in larger rooms.
Dunelm’s restock comes as the UK faces both a looming increase in the energy price cap and a colder-than-average forecast for late September.
Experts suggest that demand for small, efficient heaters will remain high as consumers attempt to cut costs during the cost-of-living crisis.
The product has already sold out quickly in some areas, leading the retailer to encourage customers to act fast if they want to secure one.
Energy advisors recommend pairing the radiator with draft excluders and thermal curtains to maximize efficiency and keep bills as low as possible this winter.
