Manchester United have reached an agreement to loan Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli for the upcoming season, with a conditional obligation to buy the Danish striker next summer.
The 21-year-old joined United two years ago from Atalanta in a deal worth around £64 million.
However, Hojlund has struggled to consistently secure a starting place, scoring 26 goals in 95 appearances but enduring a 21-game goalless spell last season.
The additions of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko to the squad have made competition fierce in attack, leading to Hojlund's exclusion from competitive matchday squads so far this season.
Napoli turned to Hojlund following Romelu Lukaku's injury layoff.
United will receive a £6 million loan fee and a £44 million transfer fee upon permanent signing.
The move potentially signals the end of Hojlund's United career and is part of broader squad changes as the transfer window closes.
Other rumored departures include Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea and Antony to Real Betis.
