Plymouth dad found after going 'missing' in Benidorm

A Stagecoach bus driver from Plymouth has been missing for over 24 hours while on holiday in Benidorm, with his family urgently appealing for information about his whereabouts.

Neil, described as bald and stockily built, has a distinctive tribal tattoo covering his right arm and tattooed lettering running down his left forearm. His prolonged absence from social media has heightened concerns among those close to him.

Terri, the child's mother, is now urgently appealing to any expats, tourists or local residents in the area who may have information. She said: "Looking for my son's dad who is in Benidorm but no one has heard from him for over 24 hours. No posts on or even being active. He's met a few people while there. If anyone has seen or heard from him can you please get in contact."

Neil is believed to have made several new friends during his trip abroad. The failure to maintain contact or post on social media has intensified anxiety among his family and friends.

Benidorm remains one of the most popular destinations for British holidaymakers during the summer months, attracting approximately 900,000 visitors each year.

Neil's disappearance comes in the wake of another British national being successfully found after going missing in Spain. Michael Hewitt, a devoted football supporter known as Little Mick amongst his friends, disappeared in Barcelona on 21 June while travelling to the USA to support England at the World Cup.

Hewitt was located following a 10-day search, blissfully unaware his family were frantically searching for him. The 65-year-old had misplaced his mobile phone, leaving him stranded and unable to continue his trip to the USA or get in touch with relatives back home. He had been following the tournament from a pub in the Spanish city with verified sightings of him appearing on social media.

His brother Gary Hewitt said: "Little Mick is safe and well in Barcelona and was blissfully unaware that the world was searching for him."
