As Coldplay continues their record-breaking ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour, their 10-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium has become a cultural and environmental highlight.
To celebrate both the song “Yellow” and the residency, an art installation called *Yellow 25* transforms the 58 steps leading to the stadium into a gradient of yellow tones, symbolising lyrical and emotional ascent.
Created in collaboration with Pantone, the installation will remain until 30 September and will be repurposed into sustainable materials afterward, reflecting the band's environmental ethos.
In addition, the shows are powered entirely by renewable energy, featuring kinetic dance floors and fan-powered bikes, with LED wristbands made from compostable materials—innovations that have cut tour-related CO₂ emissions by an impressive 59 % compared to their 2016 tour.
With over 12 million tickets sold, this remains the most attended rock tour in history.
These efforts not only reinforce Coldplay’s ambition to entertain but also to lead a sustainable future for live music in the UK.
