Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid End Relationship After More Than a Decade
Courteney Cox, the actress best known for playing Monica Geller across all ten series of American sitcom Friends, has reportedly separated from Snow Patrol lead guitarist Johnny McDaid after more than a decade of being in a relationship.
Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, began their romance in 2013 and later became engaged, though they subsequently called off the engagement while continuing their relationship.
Insiders close to the couple told US media that the separation was not acrimonious and that both parties remain on warm terms.
"Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney.
They had a very deep relationship," a source said.
"They are great friends and care about each other very much.
This was not an ugly split.
They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives." Cox, who also starred in the Scream franchise and period comedy Cougar Town, was last photographed publicly with McDaid in September at the US Open tennis tournament in New York.
The previous month, the couple had been seen on a double date with Jennifer Aniston and her partner.
Cox and McDaid were reportedly introduced by a mutual friend at a party in Los Angeles.
Cox had previously spoken candidly about a turbulent moment in their relationship, revealing on the Minnie Questions podcast that McDaid had called off their engagement during the opening minutes of a couples therapy session.
Despite that rupture, they reconciled and remained together.
The Mirror has contacted both parties' representatives for comment.
