The family home of Stacey and her eight-year-old daughter, Isla, in Aylestone, Leicester, has been transformed beyond recognition by a massive renovation project led by the BBC One show 'DIY SOS.' The makeover, which was revealed in the programme's new series on Friday evening, is described as 'life-changing' for Isla, who was born with a rare genetic disorder known as mandibuloacral dysplasia.
The transformation was completed by an army of volunteers and local tradespeople who dedicated their time and skills to the project.
Stacey expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, 'It's overwhelming to think that people would come together, not for money or recognition, but simply out of the kindness of their hearts, giving their time and skills to change our lives.' The family's circumstances required specialised adaptations to their home to better accommodate Isla's needs and enhance her quality of life.
Nick Knowles, the presenter of 'DIY SOS,' expressed his excitement that the show was back on TV, believing the broadcast will serve as a powerful reminder of 'how many good, generous people there are across the country willing to help out others in their time of need.' The finished home is expected to provide Isla and her family with the security and support needed to manage her complex health condition.
