West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Mads Hermansen from Leicester City for a reported £18 million.
The 25-year-old Danish international joins on a five-year deal with an option for a further year.
Hermansen, who impressed in the Championship with Leicester and previously played under West Ham's goalkeeping coach Casper Ankergren at Brøndby, is expected to compete for the starting spot with Alphonse Areola.
His arrival follows the departure of veteran Lukasz Fabianski and is part of manager Graham Potter’s strategy to strengthen the squad after a disappointing start to the season.
UK fans will be keen to see how Hermansen adapts to Premier League football, especially given his reputation for bravery and energy.
His signing is seen as a step toward rebuilding West Ham’s defensive resilience.
