West Ham manager Graham Potter is confident that he has 'stabilised' the team and that they are not far from a good performance despite a disappointing start to the Premier League season.
The Hammers lost their first two games against Sunderland and Chelsea, putting pressure on the former Brighton and Chelsea boss.
However, Potter remains optimistic, stating that the team is united and committed to turning things around.
He acknowledged that the pre-season was encouraging but the results have not been what the team wants.
'We're all hurting because the pre-season was encouraging.
But the results haven't been what we want and we are not shying away from the fact that things haven't been good,' he said.
Potter emphasized the 'connections and commitment' within the team and believes they are close to a result that will put them on a 'good path.' He also pointed to the positive work done behind the scenes, including improving the club's culture and togetherness.
The club recently signed a player from Southampton in a deal worth more than £40m.
Potter hinted at more signings before the transfer window closes, stating, 'You never know what's going to happen.
I think it'll be one of those windows that's going to be a lot of activity late.' He also addressed an incident involving captain Jarrod Bowen, who had to be held back by stewards after the team's loss to Wolves.
Potter defended Bowen's commitment, stating, 'Nobody can doubt his commitment and contributions to this club.'
