Andy Burnham has hinted at Department for Work and Pensions cuts for one group of claimants as he grapples with the soaring benefits bill.

The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed that people already receiving Personal Independence Payment can continue to receive the benefit after reaching State Pension age, provided they still meet the eligibility rules.

People claiming State Pension, PIP and other benefits could receive their next payment early next month due to an upcoming bank holiday.
