State Pension, PIP and other benefits to be paid early for some people next month

People claiming State Pension, PIP and other benefits could receive their next payment early next month due to an upcoming bank holiday.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have confirmed that some scheduled payments due on Monday August 31st will be made early. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is expected to follow a similar revised payment pattern.
Offices and phone lines will be closed over the bank holiday. Payments are typically made when all services are available, including webchat and Jobcentre Plus offices.
Payments including State Pension, Universal Credit, PIP, Child Benefits, Adult Disability Payment (ADP) and Attendance Allowance due on Monday August 31 will land in bank accounts on Friday August 28. Additionally, payments due to be made on Monday August 31 will be issued on Friday August 29.
There will also be a payment delay for some Scots parents due Child Benefit at the start of August. It is important to note there are no changes for parents in England or Wales.
The DWP has not yet confirmed any payment date changes but is expected to follow the same revised pattern as HMRC and Social Security Scotland. If an upcoming payment does not fall on the bank holiday, it will be issued as normal.
Benefit recipients are advised to verify their payment schedule to determine whether they are affected by the early payment arrangement. Those affected should ensure their bank account details are up to date to avoid any complications with the early payment arrival.
