£10m Kieron Bowie in talks with second Serie A side as status of Celtic transfer interest revealed

Sassuolo have become the latest Serie A side to express interest in Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie as the 23-year-old continues to attract attention across Europe following his impressive breakout season in Italy.
The £10 million-rated Scotland international has joined rivals Bologna in holding talks with Verona over the forward. Sassuolo, who finished comfortably in mid-table last season, are looking to add more firepower for the new campaign after already signing fellow international Josh Doig from Verona in 2024.
Bologna have also held a long-term interest in Bowie, dating back to when he was at Hibernian. The Serie A side have a history of dipping into the Scottish market, having previously signed Aaron Hickey, while their current captain is Lewis Ferguson, who has been the subject of an approach from Rangers this summer.
There is also significant Bundesliga interest in Bowie, though there has been no recent contact with the forward.
Bowie enjoyed a remarkable rise in Italian football after joining Verona, scoring an impressive four goals and an assist in just four months in the Serie A top-flight. The Scotland international's performances came during a difficult season for Verona, which was eventually relegated to Serie B.
His emergence in Italian football came as something of a surprise given that he was omitted from Steve Clarke's squad for Scotland's World Cup campaign. Verona are now open to selling the forward, but they are looking for a significant uplift on the £6 million they paid Hibernian to sign him in January.
Bowie is hot property after his breakout in Serie A, with multiple top European clubs keen to secure his services as competition for his signature intensifies.
