Aston Villa favourites to seal transfer of star who said 'my dad’s a Villa fan'

Aston Villa have emerged as overwhelming favourites to sign West Ham United right winger Jarrod Bowen, with bookmakers pricing them at 8/13 odds to secure the transfer before the deadline closes.
The speculation has intensified following comments from broadcaster Andy Goldstein, who appeared to guarantee the deal would happen. "This will happen I can't tell you my sources but this will happen Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa. You heard it here first," Goldstein said. Everton are considered distant second favourites at 7/2 odds.
Bowen has been linked with Villa Park on several occasions, and recent developments suggest fresh momentum behind the pursuit. The 30-year-old's father is a Villa supporter, a factor that could influence the move. As Bowen explained in 2021: "I've seen a few things recently saying Leicester should sign Jarrod Bowen but he's a Villa fan and I want to reply said."
West Ham are not under immediate pressure to sell their captain following Mateus Fernandes' 85 million pound departure to Tottenham Hotspur. However, mixed signals have emerged regarding Bowen's future. The winger appeared prominently in West Ham's kit release video for the 2026-27 campaign, featuring first in the 15-second social media clip, which some interpret as suggesting the club remains confident he will remain at the club next season.
Villa's pursuit faces potential complications. The club appears preoccupied with other transfer targets, notably attempting to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United. Fernandes' substantial move to north London may also impact Villa's capacity to bring Bowen to the Midlands. Additionally, Villa are focused on retaining their own players, with Morgan Rogers attracting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
Despite these competing priorities, Villa's position as clear favourites suggests the Midlands club remains the most likely destination for Bowen should a move materialise before the transfer window closes.
