Martin Frizell, the husband of former 'GMTV' presenter Fiona Phillips, has made a tragic and emotional 'deathbed confession' regarding his wife's battle with early-onset Alzheimer's.
Phillips, 64, was diagnosed with the devastating disease in 2022 at the age of 61 and is now being cared for by Frizell, the former executive on 'This Morning'.
In a previous interview, Frizell had expressed the heartbreaking reality of the disease, stating, 'I don't think Fiona's ever going to be able to taste a glass of wine again, walk on a beach properly again, go on holiday again, go to the theatre, go to the cinema, drive her car, cook a meal for her children'.
He also voiced his worry that 'on her deathbed, whenever that may come,' there is no remission for Alzheimer's.
In a recent post following the success of a memoir charting Fiona's health battle, which reached the top spot on the Sunday Times Bestseller list, Frizell made another admission.
He shared Fiona's gratitude to everyone who has shown interest in her story, noting that it has 'really lifted her mood'.
Frizell also thanked people who had been in touch with their own stories, suggestions for new treatments, and memories of Fiona from her working days.
He attached his favorite picture of his wife from a TV location shoot, which he said showed 'what a force of life and vitality she had'.
The couple has used their platform to raise awareness about the disease and to connect with others who are facing similar challenges.
