Car Ploughs into Pedestrians Outside Ealing M&S, Three Taken to Hospital

Three people were taken to hospital after a car collided with pedestrians outside a Marks and Spencer store on The Broadway in Ealing, west London, on Friday afternoon.

The London Ambulance Service was called at 2.29pm to the scene of the road traffic collision and dispatched multiple resources, including ambulance crews, fast response paramedics, a volunteer emergency responder crew, an incident response officer and London's Air Ambulance.

Of the three patients treated at the scene, one suffered more serious injuries and was transported to a major trauma centre by road as a priority, while the other two were taken to a local hospital.

The Broadway was cordoned off in both directions between High Street and Spring Bridge Road as Metropolitan Police officers arrived in large numbers to manage the scene and begin their investigation.

Buses were diverted away from the affected section of road, which remained closed for several hours as emergency services worked at the scene.

Witness accounts described alarming scenes shortly after the collision.

One person who recorded the aftermath posted on social media: "This looks serious โ€” there's a car with some damage to its rear bumper.

One person has been picked up and put into an ambulance and there's two people lying on the floor." An AA spokesperson confirmed the road closure via traffic monitoring systems.

The Metropolitan Police said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances of how the collision occurred and whether any criminal offences had been committed.
