Investigation Launched After Man in His 30s Found Dead on Kirkby Street

Merseyside Police have launched an investigation after a man in his 30s was found dead on a street in Kirkby on Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to Kersey Road at approximately 12.50pm following a report from the North West Ambulance Service about a man requiring urgent assistance.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the man deceased and immediately established a cordon around the area to preserve evidence for forensic examination.

Detectives from Merseyside Police have begun making inquiries to establish the full circumstances of the death.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed that the man's death is currently being treated as unexplained while their investigation continues.

Specialist forensic teams attended the scene, alongside uniformed officers conducting house-to-house inquiries in the surrounding area and gathering CCTV footage to build a detailed picture of events leading up to the discovery.

Witness accounts were also sought from residents and passers-by in the immediate vicinity.

The identity of the man was not confirmed publicly and next of kin are yet to be formally notified.

Officers stressed the importance of preserving the scene and asked members of the public to avoid the cordoned area.
