Frank Lampard has officially committed his long-term future to Coventry City by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029. The 48-year-old manager guided the Sky Blues to the Championship title and secured their remarkable return to the Premier League after 25 years away.

Lampard took over at the Coventry Building Society Arena in November 2024, initially achieving a play-off finish in his first season before the team finished top of the Championship the following year. His previous managerial record includes Chelsea, where he recorded 44 wins, 15 draws and 25 defeats in 84 matches, a brief Chelsea return yielding one win, two draws and eight losses in 11 games, and his Everton spell producing 12 wins, eight draws and 24 losses across 44 matches.

Speaking after signing his contract extension, Lampard expressed his commitment. "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract it's a real honour to represent this club," he said.

Owner and executive chairman Doug King welcomed the manager's continued involvement with the club. "I am absolutely delighted that Frank and his team have signed the contract so to speak," King said.

The club continues to strengthen its technical staff ahead of their Premier League campaign, with a former goalkeeping coach joining Lampard's set-up. Club observers highlighted the organisation's appeal to quality personnel. "It goes to show we're attracting the right sort of people in all areas of the club said Adam It can only be good news," while another commented: "We're aiming high and that's where the club needs to be aiming added Moz."

With pre-season training now underway, supporters are eagerly anticipating the opening fixtures, hopeful the team can both survive and thrive in the top flight.
