Crystal Palace news: Fan views on Oliver Glasner and Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace supporters have reacted with strong disappointment and anger at Oliver Glasner's appointment as Nottingham Forest's head coach, following the sudden dismissal of Vitor Pereira.
Pereira was sacked via email late on June 30, just one day after approving the club's participation in a pre-season tournament against Udinese. His contract, due to run until 2027, contained a clause allowing either party to terminate by mutual agreement before the end of June. The Portuguese boss, who had replaced Sean Dyche in February, guided Forest to Premier League safety and the Europa League semi-finals.
In his statement, Pereira expressed that the decision came "as a complete surprise" and "without any warning," though he acknowledged the club's right to make decisions it believed necessary. He highlighted achievements including Forest's first European semi-final since 1984 and the club's biggest ever European away win against Fenerbahce.
Palace fans have expressed their views clearly on Glasner's departure. One supporter stated: "I think it's really sad. How on earth can you join a club which is on par with Crystal Palace?" Another commented: "I cannot believe this man has gone to Forest. All the mouth when they stole our Europa League spot and he's ended up there. Disgusting and to the Palace faithful ultimate betrayal."
Several fans questioned Glasner's decision-making, with one remarking: "This is arguably the one thing that could have hurt his legacy at Palace. Really disappointed if he goes to Forest especially given everything that has happened over the past calendar year." Another added: "If this happens it would be extremely disappointing. From super hero to super villain."
One supporter stated: "Let down badly. Glasner was a Palace hero. What on earth is he thinking going to them after the off field antics of last season?"
Concerns also centre on Glasner's track record with club hierarchies. One fan noted: "Why anyone would want to become a club's fifth manager in 12 months is beyond me. The financial package must be unbelievable. Marinakis will not give Glasner the time scope or understanding he enjoyed at Palace."
Glasner brings proven pedigree, having won a Europa League trophy with Frankfurt and an FA Cup with Palace.
