Reports suggest Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be tying the knot this weekend at Madison Square Garden. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in August, drawing 14m likes in its first hour, reaching 37.4m total.

When Madison Square Garden was first suggested as the wedding venue, the response was near-unanimous scoffing. However, the New York Times reported the arena had been rented by Winick Productions for a multi-day event between July 2-4. The public calendar is surprisingly empty during this period, with the next event listed as a Bon Jovi gig on July 7.

Reports describe an intimate 100-person gathering Thursday and larger celebration Friday. A castle is being assembled inside MSG, based on photos showing a giant white staircase outside the venue. With the venue's capacity about 22,000, even 1,000 guests might feel intimate. MSG's lack of natural light sources makes it paparazzi-proof and provides strong security.

Regarding performances, Page Six reports that Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw will be performing at the wedding. Swift and Nicks have long had a publicly admiring relationship and collaborated on liner notes for Swift's 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department. McGraw was the inspiration for Swift's first-ever hit, written when she was 16.

High-school friend Abigail Anderson is favourite to be a bridesmaid. Other likely guests include Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, and Emma Stone. Country stars Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Sugarland, and the Chicks have been rumoured. A Saturday Night Live table is also likely, as both Swift and Kelce have hosted the show.
