In a recent speech, Nigel Farage criticized what he called the 'spineless' approach of UK politicians on immigration.
He referenced a controversial deal where the government will pay the Taliban in Afghanistan to accept the return of Afghans who have illegally entered Britain.
Farage argues that this decision, which would have been unthinkable a few years ago, is a result of politicians' persistent failure to control immigration and their arrogant reliance on the 'infinitely flexible good-natured tolerance' of the British public.
He noted that while the proposal caused an uproar among left-leaning media and politicians, it was broadly accepted by the general public.
He quoted a street interview comment from a voter: 'I used to care about them, the illegal immigrants, but I'm sorry, not anymore.
They're just taking the p*** now.' Farage stated that the public's patience has been taken for granted and has finally 'bitten [politicians] on the behind.' He also commented on other news, including a debate about 'mansplaining' and the rising energy bills.
He highlighted that a significant portion of a recent 2% hike in household power bills was due to paying wind farms to switch off when the network couldn't handle their input, and then paying gas plants to fire up to compensate.
Farage pointed out the irony of this, saying, 'People need to benefit from these cheap renewables, rather than having to pay to switch them off.'
