In Sri Lanka, for example, the new government's promises to improve living standards and hold corrupt politicians accountable have not yet been realized, leading to continued public dissatisfaction.

The report also notes the ongoing civil war in Myanmar, which has grown out of resistance to the military government that ousted the democratically-elected government in 2021.
