Booming Stoke-on-Trent takeaway chain Poppadom Express is eyeing expansion into five new areas of the city as it capitalizes on strong early success.

The restaurant group is exploring possible new sites in Milton, Baddeley Green, Burslem, Longton, and Dresden, as well as in nearby Alsager. Suitable locations being considered include cafes, takeaways, and sandwich shops which are currently up for sale or could potentially be made available for the brand.

The expansion plans come following the opening of the first Poppadom Express branch in Basford last year. The takeaway is operated by the experienced team behind Pabna Restaurant, which also maintains established branches in Leek and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

In a social media post announcing the news, Poppadom Express stated: "After the amazing success of our very first branch we re thrilled to announce that Poppadom Express is looking to expand Let's grow something amazing together."

The rapid expansion plans demonstrate the strong performance of the brand since its initial launch. By targeting multiple locations across the Potteries, the business appears confident in the appetite for their offering among local customers. The focus on acquiring existing hospitality venues suggests a pragmatic approach to expansion, avoiding the costs and complications associated with building new premises from scratch.

The move reflects broader trends in the UK takeaway market, where successful independent chains are increasingly looking to grow beyond their initial location. For Stoke-on-Trent, the expansion could represent a significant boost to the city's hospitality sector and local employment opportunities.

The company has not yet announced specific timelines for opening these new locations or provided further details about which properties in the identified areas are being actively evaluated. However, the public announcement suggests the business is well advanced in its growth strategy and actively seeking suitable properties across the identified Potteries areas.
