A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman on Parkland Walk, a popular walking route in Haringey that runs between Finsbury Park and Highgate. The alleged incident took place at around 10.30pm on Tuesday June 30. The teenager is currently being held in police custody, the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement this morning.
Detective Inspector Warren Ingrey, who is leading the investigation, acknowledged the significant concerns of the local community. He said: "We are aware of the concern that the community will have following this incident. Police patrols have been increased in the area and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to officers. We would also encourage any witnesses or anyone with information about what happened to please come forward as soon as possible."

The investigation is ongoing as police work to establish the full circumstances of the alleged assault. The increased police presence in the area is intended to reassure residents during the investigation.
