Man City news: Fan views on World Cup transfer targets

Manchester City have continued their summer recruitment drive with the confirmation of an agreement to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, a 23-year-old who has established himself as one of the most dynamic young midfielders in the English top flight. Physical examinations have been completed and the formalities of the move will be finalised when the World Cup campaign concludes and the player returns to England. The club expressed their support for Anderson, stating "In the meantime everyone at Manchester City wishes Elliot and the England squad the very best of luck in their World Cup campaign and we look forward to welcoming him to Manchester in due course."
Meanwhile, Manchester City supporters have been vocal about their preferred transfer targets from the World Cup tournament. Samuel stated that he believes most fans would nominate Ayyoub Bouaddi, the 18-year-old described as composed, silky and elegant. "I think after City hopefully complete the Anderson signing we should attempt to sign Bouaddi as the high potential player that could replace Rodri if he does not renew his contract," Samuel said. Samuel also suggested the club should sell a player like Reijnders who hasn't really adapted to the Premier League.
Other supporters have identified different priorities. Agastya expressed enthusiasm for Achraf Hakimi, calling him "the best right back in the world," while acknowledging it would be "difficult to get him from PSG." Kevin proposed Kevin Bouddadi from Morocco as "a defensive midfield replacement for Rodri next year when he goes to Madrid."
Steve highlighted Michael Olise as an ideal replacement for Savinho, envisioning a potent attacking setup. "With Olise and Doku attacking from the flanks and Haaland in the centre what a potent strike force that would be," he remarked. He noted that Olise "can attack from the midfield so there's no reason why they could not play together and interchange during a game."
Other suggestions included Elijah Just as a backup winger and Mohamed Hany of Egypt as a capable right back option.
