Hull City news: Rangers fan on reported Jack Butland fee

Jack Butland has confirmed he is set to leave Rangers after three years at Ibrox, with the England international poised to complete a move to Hull City. The 33-year-old goalkeeper has agreed a reported £3 million switch to the English Premier League new boys, with Croatian shot-stopper Ivor Pandur moving in the opposite direction as part of a £6 million deal for the Scottish club.
Butland joined Rangers on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 and made 155 appearances in all competitions. He won the Premier Sports Cup final in December 2023 when Rangers defeated Aberdeen 1-0.
In an emotional farewell message, Butland wrote: "Three years ago I made a decision to join this great football club with no hesitation and I'm so glad that I did. While it's been a rollercoaster I've always tried to represent the club in the best way I can both on and off the pitch and I leave with great pride knowing that I truly gave the fans the club and my team-mates my all."
He added: "To the fans that followed us everywhere you are what makes this club so great. We created memories and atmospheres all over Europe and the sound of Ibrox in full voice will stay with me forever. This is only goodbye for now. You've created a family of lifelong Rangers fans - once a Ranger always a Ranger - me and my family will always be that."
Commenting on the move, a Rangers observer said they are "getting somebody who is a leader" and "a goalie of some stature," noting he "always seems to start the season off really strongly." The observer acknowledged that "there are question marks over Jack's form" as the season progresses. Regarding the reported £3 million fee, the observer stated: "I would've thought at the age he is with a year left on his contract we would've picked up £1m. But to get what we have for Jack seems like very good business especially if you look at the investment we're making the other way."
