Jason Wren, 32, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for the rape of a woman in her home in Hastings, East Sussex, on November 30, 2024.
Wren, who was found guilty of rape, attempted rape, and trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offense, was seen acting suspiciously outside the property by witnesses before he forced his way in.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the terrifying ordeal lasted approximately 15 minutes.
Wren grabbed the woman by the throat, causing bruising to her neck, and threatened to hurt her if she made a noise.
He then forced her upstairs before raping her, telling her he would kill her if she refused.
Daniel Harrison from the CPS described Wren as a 'dangerous man with a fascination for rape who carefully planned his attack.' The court extended Wren's sentence for a further seven years.
The case highlights the importance of feeling secure in one's own home, a feeling that Wren 'shattered' with his 'horrendous attack.' The sentence at Lewes Crown Court on Friday brings a form of justice to the victim of this violent and pre-meditated crime.
