Relief as Brit dad missing in Benidorm 'after meeting new people' is found

A Plymouth father holidaying in Benidorm has been found after a missing appeal shared online. Neil Ginter's disappearance at the popular Spanish resort had left family members concerned.

The Stagecoach bus driver had not been in touch with his loved ones for over 24 hours and was believed to have met several new people during his trip. His prolonged absence from social media heightened worries among those close to him.

Terri Purland, who shares a child with Neil, had appealed for information online. "Looking for my son's dad who is in Benidorm but no one has heard from him for over 24 hours," she wrote. "No posts on Facebook or even being active. He's met a few people while there. If anyone has seen or heard from him can you please get in contact."

Neil was described as bald with a distinctive tribal tattoo across his right arm, tattooed lettering along his left forearm, and a stocky build.

Neil's recovery comes after another British national was successfully found after going missing in Spain. Michael Hewitt, nicknamed "Little Mick," had been travelling to the USA to support England at the World Cup when he vanished during a stopover in Barcelona on June 21.

He was located following a 10-day search, blissfully unaware his family had been desperately looking for him. The 65-year-old had lost his mobile phone, leaving him unable to continue his journey or contact relatives back home. He had been watching the tournament from a pub in the Spanish city, with confirmed sightings circulating on social media.

"Little Mick is safe and well in Barcelona and was blissfully unaware that the world was searching for him," his brother Gary Hewitt said.

Benidorm continues to be an exceptionally popular choice for British summer holidays, attracting roughly 900,000 visitors each year.
