Shocking footage shows woman thrown from motorbike onto car window in Glasgow crash

A motorcyclist was thrown from her bike onto a car windscreen after being struck by a vehicle turning across her path on Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow. The shocking incident, captured on dashcam footage, saw the rider, known as Eve, hit by the side of the car after the driver suddenly turned right into her path as she navigated slow-moving traffic in June 2024.
Eve, wearing a black puffer jacket, grey leggings and a helmet, was struck with such force that she was thrown from her bike and bounced off the windscreen before suffering a nasty fall to the ground. She was seen looking up in astonishment, hands to her face, as a pedestrian who witnessed the crash ran to her aid while phoning emergency services.
Initial responses to the incident appeared to work against the motorcyclist. The insurer immediately blamed the biker and offered a 50/50 settlement. However, the dashcam footage told a very different story. Lawyers representing the biker, working with Motorcycle Law Scotland, the Peebles-based motorcycle claims firm, secured the footage and used it to challenge the insurer's assumptions.
A spokesperson said: "The dashcam footage told a very different story. It showed the driver failed to properly observe before turning and was distracted moments before the collision. By challenging the insurer's assumptions and preparing the case for court we secured a settlement worth more than three times the original offer."
The incident highlights the importance of dashcam evidence in motorcycle accident cases. According to the Department for Transport, 340 motorcyclists were killed in Britain in 2024, whilst 5,468 were reported to be seriously injured and 10,152 slightly injured. Between 2020 and 2024, 92 per cent of motorcycle casualties were male and eight per cent were female. In the same time period, most motorcycle fatalities occurred in two-vehicle collisions involving a car.
