Sanjay Patel said, ‘FloodGuard gives authorities hours, sometimes days, to prepare.’ Tested in Yorkshire, it correctly flagged 90% of flood-prone areas during Storm Babet.
The tool, freely accessible to local councils, integrates with Environment Agency systems.

The government allocated £15m to expand its use nationwide by 2026.
