Boy, 13, tragically dies with other teenager still fighting for life after Blackpool horror house fire

A 13-year-old boy has tragically died following a devastating house fire in Blackpool, whilst another teenager continues to fight for his life in hospital.
Emergency services were called to Redcar Road at 9.37am on Tuesday June 30 after reports of a property blaze. Two individuals, a 19-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries sustained in the aftermath of the fire.
Blackpool Police confirmed that the young boy, named as Coby Keogh, died from his injuries on Sunday July 5. In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: "Our thoughts are with Coby's loved ones at this time and they are being supported by specially trained officers. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
19-year-old Joey Gregory remains in a serious condition in hospital following the tragedy. His mother posted an emotional update on Facebook on Saturday July 4, disclosing that he continues to fight for his life. She wrote: "We were told on Tuesday that the first 24-48 hours were critical. Then they said 72. We are on day 5 and my boy is still here. Keep fighting sunshine we ain't going nowhere. We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. My boy is so loved. I don't know where we are finding the strength from. Please keep praying."
Three further occupants of the property sustained minor injuries during the incident.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway, jointly led by police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Officers have confirmed there is currently no evidence of third-party involvement. Police believe the blaze was ignited by an e-bike.
