Five-year-old fighting for life after horrific three-car crash

A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital following a serious multi-vehicle collision in Wales on Sunday evening. The crash occurred on the A4067 near Craig-y-Nos north of Ystradgynlais at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday July 5.

The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, a grey Vauxhall Grandland, and a yellow Ford Fiesta. Five people were seriously injured in the incident, with the young child airlifted to hospital by air ambulance with injuries believed to be life-threatening. The child remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A force spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067 near Craig-y-Nos at around 5.50pm on Sunday July 5."

Two men have been arrested as Dyfed-Powys Police continue their investigation. The driver of the green Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and child neglect. The driver of the yellow Ford Fiesta, a 65-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both men remain in police custody.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was travelling along the road at the time with dashcam footage to come forward. Information can be reported to Dyfed-Powys Police either online by emailing [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting reference DP-20260703-277.
