Kate Middleton rubs shoulders with celebrities as she's spotted at Wimbledon 2026
The Princess of Wales made an unexpected appearance at Wimbledon on day four. Kate arrived at the All England Club in an elegant blue linen suit with her hair swept back into a high ponytail, taking her seat on Court 18 alongside former British tennis ace Tim Henman to watch Arthur Fery face Finland's Otto Virtanen in their second-round encounter.
BBC presenter Isa Guha delivered a playful comment about her colleague as Kate conversed with Henman. "Arthur Fery imagine having to play in front of royalty as well. The Princess of Wales in the house there she is chatting to Tim Henman hope he's not boring her," she remarked on air. The Princess seemed in excellent spirits.
However, Kate's most striking gesture came before entering Court 18. The 44-year-old mingled with spectators who had queued for hours seeking ground passes, chatting with tennis enthusiasts to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Hospital. She was subsequently seen scanning tickets of those entering the grounds. BBC commentator Chris Bradnam expressed astonishment, saying on air: "Her Royal Highness Catherine Princess of Wales she's been on duty today mixing it with the fans and scanning tickets."
As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club since 2016, Kate typically wears a distinctive green and purple brooch representing the tournament's official colours. However, on this occasion she chose to forgo the accessory entirely. Later that afternoon, she appeared at No. 1 Court watching Katie Swan compete against Madison Keys, accompanied by Andy Murray and Anne Keothavong. BBC presenter Isa Guha noted: "The Princess of Wales has been watching on Court 18 with Tim Henman. She came in a little bit earlier. She surprised some fans. That was a lovely moment for them to be able to meet her."
