Wimbledon star orders huge McDonald's delivery to hospital after big health scare

Tennis sensation Learner Tien was rushed to hospital just hours after his second-round loss to Hungary's Marton Fucsovics at Wimbledon on Wednesday. The American, who had stormed through to the quarter-final of the Australian Open earlier this year, was beaten 6-7 6-8 6-4 7-6 7-4 6-3 by Fucsovics.
Tien, widely tipped as a future Grand Slam champion, was clearly not at his physical best throughout the match and was forced to take a medical timeout midway through the contest. Reports suggested he had been battling a stomach problem, which led to the peculiar sight of Tien eating a plain piece of bread during the first changeover of the fourth set.
Concerns over Tien's well-being intensified following the match when he shared a photo on social media of himself lying in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV drip. However, a sizeable spread of McDonald's takeaway food was visible on the table beside him, including two boxes of 20 Chicken McNuggets, hinting that his condition may not have been particularly serious.
It marks a disappointing conclusion to the grass court season for Tien, with the 20-year-old failing to surpass his second-round showing from last year's Wimbledon. Provided he gets the all-clear health-wise, he will now set his sights on the upcoming North American hard-court swing.
There is added motivation for Tien too, given he has never progressed beyond the first round at his home Grand Slam, with the tennis prodigy eager to make his mark at Flushing Meadows this year. He will have no shortage of attention on him, not least because legendary American tennis great John McEnroe tipped him to one day reach a Slam final ahead of the recent French Open.
