Coronation Street's fan-favourite officer teases return after clear demand

A star who has become a fan-favourite among fans has confirmed her return to the cobbles after fans made a demand for her to be made a permanent cast member. It was back in April that viewers of the soap saw PC Jess return to screens six months after her last appearance in Weatherfield.
Coronation Street fans will recall that the copper played by actress Donnaleigh Bailey was brought in as the mentor of the late Craig Tinker back in 2017 as he started out his career in the local force. She has appeared sporadically in Weatherfield ever since with one of the last times last summer when the locals gathered to say their own heartbreaking goodbyes to Craig after he was brutally killed in the line of duty.
In April as a special episode of Corrie shone a spotlight on domestic violence. After a violent attack by his husband Theo Silverton Todd Grimshaw was seen getting his injuries documented at the police station when he locked eyes with another domestic abuse victim being escorted through the station by Jess.
Months on and Donnaleigh seems to have confirmed she will soon be back on the cobbles. She was seen sharing a video of herself in a police uniform inside a dressing room. Captioning the post which was set to a song in which the lyrics included Oh no I'm getting arrested she wrote Waiting to go on set got me like alongside police-themed emojis.
However it comes weeks after she posted another video again donning a police uniform inside a studio dressing room which she captioned PC Jess loading much to Corrie fans delight.
The announcement has sparked enthusiasm among viewers. One fan commented It will be nice to see Jess back on Corrie while another wrote Can't wait to see more of PC Jess. Several fans expressed hopes for a romantic storyline, with one stating A Jess Ryan romance would be nice.
