A dad-of-two from Islington in North London has admitted 26 voyeurism charges after he was caught secretly filming women through their windows at night. Anthony Durkan, 36, pleaded guilty to 19 charges at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Tuesday, adding to seven voyeurism charges he had previously admitted to on March 26 at the same court.

Police discovered that Durkan's mobile phone contained a hidden gallery with hundreds of images and videos of women in various states of undress. There is no evidence that any of the women knew they were being filmed. Officers also confiscated five additional mobile devices and a small camera during a search of his home for further investigation.

Durkan was caught red-handed when doorbell footage captured him sneaking around a woman's Islington home and filming her through her windows in the early hours. Prosecutor Edward Kalber told the court that Durkan "poses a real risk to women and girls in our communities" and that "He was filming them in their private residences in various states of undress."

The offences took place primarily over the last year, with the exception of one incident on January 12, 2020. In January 2026, police received a report from a woman whose neighbour had spotted a man "clad entirely in black and donning a balaclava" repeatedly visiting her Islington home and filming through her windows. Another incident in March 2026 saw a woman confront a man filming through her window, which was captured on security camera.

On March 25, an undercover officer observed a man approaching a property and repeating the suspicious behaviour. He was apprehended moments later and identified as Durkan. Dressed in a white jacket and jeans, Durkan entered his guilty pleas on Tuesday afternoon. He has been granted conditional bail and will be sentenced at a yet-to-be-determined date at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger stated that Durkan's offending "represented a serious and sustained course of predatory behaviour deliberately targeting women who were entirely unaware they were being filmed." Police are urging women across north London to come forward if they noticed unusual activity around their homes between January 2020 and March 2026.
