Coronation Street fans make demand as Sarah Platt set to join Weatherfield's inmates

Coronation Street fans have made a spin-off demand as Sarah Platt looks set to join a number of Weatherfield inmates following her arrest for the murder of Theo Silverton.

It was revealed to viewers of the soap last month that Sarah was the one responsible for the abuser's death, which came weeks after the villain's murder took place in April before his lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor.

A whodunnit quickly got underway with Corrie confirming Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton as suspects. However, it was later revealed that Sarah was the one to kill Theo after he tried to torment Todd one last time following months of physical and mental abuse.

Corrie fans watched as Sarah confessed the truth to Todd, who subsequently told his best friend that he could no longer have her in his life, while her partner DC Kit Green remained determined to pin Theo's murder on Gary, not realising he is in fact covering for Sarah.

Corrie has confirmed that in a special single-strand episode, Sarah will be left with nowhere to hide as her big secret comes spilling out and she is arrested for murder. With pictures already showing Sarah in prison, fans were quick to suggest a spin-off for the Salford-based soap due to the number of former Weatherfield residents already behind bars.

Fan Larafk83 commented: "So potentially we have Becky Swain Lou Megan and now Sarah Platt all in the same prison together I think it d be amazing for a one-off prison episode of Corrie to see them all interact with each other." Another fan replied: "I d pay to see Lou and Sarah take on Becky." Sjl170 added: "Would make a great bad girl type spin off Add one feisty DS into the mix we ll take it."
