Coronation Street star tells fans what they can expect from Betsy Swain scenes as health drama confirmed

Coronation Street fans will see a dramatic health storyline for Betsy Swain in upcoming episodes, with co-star Cait Fitton previewing the emotional scenes.

The storyline begins as Betsy asks Dylan Wilson for cooking lessons after a disastrous attempt at preparing breakfast. Dylan shows Betsy how to make Bolognese and assures her that they will make their long-distance relationship work as she prepares to move to London for fashion college. However, disaster strikes, and an ambulance pulls away from number six with its siren blaring.

Ryan Connor finds Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor. At hospital, a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI scan. When Dylan arrives to see Betsy, he comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy.

As the week unfolds, an upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. However, suspicion begins to grow. When Sean Tully suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down, leaving Sean suspicious. The tension escalates when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan in the cafe and blames him for Betsy's collapse. Lisa then calls the police station and tells the desk sergeant she would like to report a crime.

Cait Fitton, who plays Betsy's best friend Lauren Bolton, shared a preview of the upcoming scenes on Instagram. The image showed Sydney Martin as Betsy surrounded by her loved ones, Ryan, Lisa and Carla.
