The disruption is for the construction of a housing development of 208 homes by Housing Association Curo.

The 5.5-mile new stretch will improve road safety and journey times by replacing roundabouts with flyovers and addressing flooding issues with new drainage systems.
The project lead, Chris Griffin of National Highways, stated that the current stretch of road was very unsafe, having experienced two fatalities this year.
The new road will open in phases, with motorists getting their first taste of it in spring next year and the entire stretch due to open in spring 2027.
