A section of the A34 was closed following a two-vehicle collision on July 1 afternoon. A motorbike and a car were reportedly involved in the smash at around 2.30pm. Officers cordoned off Talke Road in the aftermath of the accident, with eyewitnesses reporting that an air ambulance had been seen circling overhead. The condition of the drivers remained unknown at the time of the incident.

The crash caused significant delays along Talke Road, Wolstanton Road and Dimsdale Parade West, disrupting traffic flow across the area. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene to manage the situation and assist those involved.

One witness described the incident to The Sentinel: "There has been a crash on Talke Road at the top of Beasley Avenue. It looked like the bike had smashed into the car. I saw an air ambulance and police have closed the road. I hope everyone involved is okay."

Staffordshire Police later confirmed that the motorcyclist involved in the collision had been taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with potentially serious injuries. The severity of the injury prompted the initial air ambulance response observed by members of the public.

The incident prompted live updates as emergency services worked to clear the scene and manage the disrupted traffic. Recovery operations were undertaken to remove the damaged vehicles and reopen the road to allow traffic to resume its normal flow. The closure affected commuters and residents in the area who had to seek alternative routes while emergency services attended to those injured and cleared the wreckage from the roadway.
